Underworld

This is what finishing a screenplay sounds like — what it feels like. Rick Smith and Karl Hyde have a way of championing joy and melody into rave music. It’s hypnotizing, and I find their records emotional and warm — easy to listen to. I started this script fourteen months ago and it feels so gratifying to wrap up the latest draft on a Monday morning. Originally I meant this to be a TV pilot called PELICAN. Since then, it has evolved into a sprawling feature called ABOVE THE TREES which follows the lives of several people connected to a series of murders in Oregon. 🎬
